MATZAH BALL SHABBAT?
Matzah Ball Shabbat is our Friday night family Shabbat Service. Enjoy Matzah Ball Soup in our Village Center prior to the start of Shabbat Services. Services are led by Kol Simchah, our youth choir, and feature a story instead of a sermon. Check out upcoming Matzah Ball Shabbat dates. GRADE LEVEL SHABBAT AND FAMILY DINNER? Throughout the school year, each grade level is invited to lead the congregation during a Shabbat service. Following the service families are invited to stay for dinner and socialize with other families and clergy. INSTALLATION SHABBAT? A special Shabbat officially welcoming our new clergy to our BJBE community. Rabbi Wright's Installation Shabbat begins Friday, April 2. Rabbi Canali's Installation Shabbat begins Friday, November 6. CONSECRATION CEREMONY? Consecration is our ceremony welcoming all of our new Kindergarten – 3rd grade students to the JLC. It is held during Simchat Torah. FAMILY PROGRAM? Each grade has 1-2 family programs. Parents are invited to join their students on Sunday morning for a special program that complements their grade-level curriculum and deepens Jewish learning as a family. FAMILY RETREAT? The Family Retreat is a weekend retreat at Camp OSRUI in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Join the JLC staff and clergy to learn, pray, and have fun while building community. YOM KEF? Yom Kef is our Chanukah Celebration—a JLC day of learning through engaging and fun Chanukah themed activities including a Chanukah snack of sufganiyot and latkes. YOM YISRAEL? Yom Yisrael is our Israel Celebration in honor of Yom Ha’atzmaut for all our JLC students and teachers. In place of our regular day, students participate in Israel-themed activities and enjoy Israeli food in our shuk. CONFIRMATION CEREMONY? The Confirmation ceremony is a culmination of a year of study for our 10th grade students where they confirm their commitment to Judaism. TEACHER APPRECIATION? Teacher Appreciation takes place at our last Matzah Ball Shabbat of the school year. We recognize our teachers for their hard work with the children of the JLC and celebrate those teachers who are having a teaching anniversary. |
