High Holy Days 2021/5782

High Holy Days 2021/5782 will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual.

All services will be held in the Sacred Hall and will be available virtually. If you would like to switch to attend virtually, or change your service time, please contact the office.
Tickets will only be provided if you have made your 2021-2022 Shared Sacred Partnership Commitment.

TO ORDER IN-PERSON TICKETS ONLINE: Email epalatnik@bjbe.org

TO REGISTER TO ATTEND VIRTUALLY: Email epalatnik@bjbe.org

IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING SERVICES IN-PERSON:

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
Masks are required at all times while in the building during High Holy Days. All services will be held in the Sacred Hall. You are welcome to sit with your family and friends in whatever groupings are meaningful to you and we will provide spacers to place on seats to allow for distancing. If at any time you are not comfortable in the Sacred Hall, you are welcome to experience any of the services live-streamed in the Sanctuary.

PRAYER BOOKS
Mishkan HaNefesh - Erev and Traditional Services
L'Dor Vador - L'Dor Vador prayer book

We provide a complimentary prayer book for use during the L'dor Vador Service. For Erev and Traditional services on both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, a limited number of books are available to borrow. Mishkan HaNefesh sets are available for purchase in the BJBE office. Each set of two books is $40.

PARKING
The parking lot directly in front of and around BJBE is all designated as special needs and handicap parking. You must present your blue BJBE parking pass or have a handicap license plate or placard in order to park in one of these spots. All other cars should park at Rochelle Zell Jewish High School. Please allow for extra time to park and walk. There will be no remote parking at Walgreens or busing this year.

IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING SERVICES VIRTUALLY:

PRAYER BOOKS
Service books for virtual services can be accessed below.

VIRTUAL/STREAMING
Virtual services will be streamed on Boxcast and YouTube. The links for each service are below. Rabbi Fenster has put together a video explaining how to access virtual services this year. Click here to watch it!

If you will be accessing services on a computer or device, the Boxcast and YouTube links below will take you to each service. Which link you click on is simply a matter of preference. In the lower left-hand corner, you will see a countdown to the scheduled service time. When it is time, click play when you are ready to begin and you may pause the service at any time. The Boxcast link should only be used on a computer or device – not on a television.

If you will be accessing our High Holy Day services on your smart TV (a television that can also access the internet):

  1. Locate the YouTube app on your television
  2. Find the search bar and type in BJBE Community
  3. Click on the BJBE logo (that takes you to our BJBE channel, rather than a specific video)
  4. ALL of our 2021 High Holy Day services will be listed there – choose the service you would like to access

To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend you follow the steps above. If you click on any service, you will see our logo and the service date and time on the screen and a countdown to the scheduled service time in the lower left-hand corner.

When the service begins, click play and you may pause it at any time.
