Introducing Virtual Villages

Knowing that we are all experiencing the stress and isolation of social and physical distancing, BJBE would like to offer an opportunity to create "Virtual Villages" to help maintain community, connection, and care. These Virtual Villages are a way that BJBE members can connect with other congregants on issues of interest and shared hobbies. These Virtual Villages will meet weekly at a specific time each week via Zoom.

Our current offerings are:

Dis and Dat Chat, facilitated by Sandee Holleb, Mondays @ 10:00am
A chance to get together to talk about a potpourri of topics of no depth!

Hope and History, facilitated by Sally Sachar, Mondays @ 12:30pm
We will listen to each of the five episodes of this new podcast, Hope, Through History by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Jon Meacham. The series will explore five defining moments in time when America’s leaders and citizens were forced to confront crises of historic magnitude, offering a portrait of the events and an overview of how they impacted the economy and culture, and how the country came together. It will look at the 1918 Flu Pandemic, the Great Depression, World War II, the polio epidemic and the Cuban Missile Crisis.  In the series, Meacham is joined by other leading historians, including Doris Kearns Goodwin, Walter Isaacson and Erik Larson.
