Senior Youth Group is getting into full swing as we move into October. We have a lot of exciting events planned for the 2009-2010 year. We will have our two annual shul-ins. We are going pumpkin picking. We are joining youth groups around the Chicago area at a Bulls game in November. We are joining with Temple Chai and Beth Am’s senior youth groups for a weekend retreat to Osrui. And in April, BJBE and our SYG are hosting NFTY CAR’s (the Chicago region’s High School youth group for reform synagogues) spring conclave. In order to make sure that we can fund these events and that you are informed about these exciting events, we are starting membership dues for the senior youth group. Dues will be $18 for the year. The dues funds that we collect will be used in a variety of ways. They will help pay for food, drinks, and activities at our weekly lounge nights and monthly havdallot. They will also help to fund the various events throughout the year, as well as for the NFTY dues that NFTY CAR requires of each person who attends a NFTY event.

You do not need to be a member to come to our events. However there are some benefits to paying dues. You will be put onto an email list that will send out flyers and reminders of upcoming events, you will be able to participate in NFTY, and best of all you will receive discounts for our events. 

Please send your Membership Dues sheet with a check made to BJBE SYG to the BJBE office at 901 Milwaukee avenue with Attn: SYG. Dues can be sent at any time. However, only after we receive your dues will we cover your membership dues to NFTY and be eligible for the discount at events.
