(Daniel) Shore grew up in the rural town of Granville, IL (near Starved Rock/LaSalle-Peru) where Judaism was tough to come by—it was a one-hour drive every week to Sunday School in Peoria, and there were monthly services at a small synagogue in LaSalle. His first real sense of being Jewish came at OSRUI summer camp and continued with him years later as he became very active in Hillel, the AEPi fraternity, and teaching Sunday School while attending Bradley University. Shore graduated May 2009 and, after his 12th summer at OSRUI, he decided to move to Chicago for the year. While living here, Shore is looking forward to maintaining a strong connection to the Jewish community as well as pursuing experience in psychology research before applying to graduate programs. BJBE is very excited to have Shore as our KYG advisor for this year.
