Sally J. Sachar, Executive Director. Sally brings to BJBE her lifetime of proven leadership of nationally recognized organizations. She has led organizations with critical missions that serve basic human needs across the life-span such as early childhood and K-12 education, teen pregnancy prevention, workforce and youth development, public health and Alzheimer’s policy and research innovation. These leadership positions reflect Sally’s deep commitment to individual, organizational and social well-being. Sally has an M.B.A. with highest honors from Boston University, has participated in executive education in social enterprise from Harvard Business School and has a B.A. with honors in political science from Colgate University. Her leadership experience, combined with passion and partnership with the full BJBE community, will advance BJBE’s mission, vision and values.
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and by way of nearly 40 years on the East Coast, Sally now lives with her husband Rob Muller (Dean, National College of Education, National Louis University) in East Lakeview (Chicago). They have three young adult children who for now live in NYC and Atlanta. In her free time, Sally enjoys traveling with her family, hiking, biking, reading, and sipping really strong extra dry cappuccinos. She is a political junkie and is officially obsessed with her golden retriever-lab mix, Nala Sachar (you can follow Nala's fabulous adventures on Instagram at thenalagram).
