Youth Director

We are excited to welcome Alek Kopulsky to BJBE as our new Youth Director.  As our Youth Director, Alek will supervise our three youth groups as well as our madrichim program. Alek will also coordinate JLC family engagement programs for families with kids in Kindergarten-3rd grade. This is a shared position with OSRUI, where Alek will work over the summers.

Alek grew up in Northbrook and recently graduated from Brandeis University with a B.A. in psychology and public health. He has a minor in Hebrew language, literature, and culture and spent a semester abroad at Ben Gurion University in Be'er Sheva, Israel. While a student, Alek taught sixth grade for three years with the Boston Area Jewish Education Program and also lead Shabbat services for the Brandeis Reform Chavurah.

Alek spent many years as a camper at OSRUI and served as a counselor, song leader, and music specialist for TIferet (the arts unit) at OSRUI. Alek attributes his proud sense of Jewish identity and continued engagement with Jewish life to these summers. He is enthusiastic about the opportunity to foster a camp culture in the JLC in his new role.
