At BJBE we want to give our kids a youth group opportunity as young as 3rd Grade. Open to all of our third and fourth grade students, "3-4" meets every other month for fun programming like Havdallah Ice Cream Socials, Bowling, Shabbat Late-Nighters, and a trip to the waterpark. 3-4 is a great way for kids to make temple friends outside the classroom, and feel connected to their community.
The K'tanim Youth Group (KYG) is an active Jewish community open to all of our fifth and sixth grade students. KYG empowers its members to become leaders both within the synagogue and out in their communities. In addition to our unique to BJBE events, KYG often teams up with other groups in the Chicagoland area to provide our kids the opportunity to engage with as many young Jewish friends as possible.
We are pleased to be partnering with 23 other Jewish organizations to host the North Shore Jewish Community Candidate Forum this evening at BJBE starting at 7:30 PM. This event is described by Lynn Sweet in the SunTimes as, "the major Jewish community event of the general election cycle and includes contenders for Congress and Illinois state House and Senate."
